Program Facilitator's Message
Greetings,
As the facilitators for the H.O.M.E. program, we enjoy forginging strong relationships with the families who are the foundation of this parent partnership.
For those who may be new to the concept, H.O.M.E. stands for Homeschool Opportunities for Merging Education. We work with our families to create a written student learning plan individualized for each child. Students attend classes on-site up to 10 hours a week and complete the rest of their coursework at home. Working in partnership, we are able to provide a very rich learning experience for each child.
We welcome parents and students who have chosen this as an alternative to the regular school experience. It requires a huge commitment on the part of the parents, as they are the primary learning coaches. Most of our classes are considered enrichment classes, and are not meant to replace curriculum in core subject areas. Only our core high school courses in Language Arts, Science, Math, Art, and Social Studies, are complete courses, and these classes have a lot of homework which may require parent support.
